RFMD in Greensboro has two openings for technicians within the Facilities Maintenance group

The primary role of the Fab Facilities Technician is to contribute to the maintenance and operational health of systems and equipment to preserve them from failure or decline. Ensuring the reliability and integrity of the facilities systems for the support of Production Operations. Through the implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance practices and application of technical skills and ingenuity he/she is responsible for maintaining the integrity of systems operations for the Fabs.
The successful candidate will work with all Facilities groups to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems. They will directly diagnose, repair and operate systems including, but not limited to: Effluent waste treatment, HVAC, chemical & gas distribution, air and gas abatement, process water, DI Water, liquid nitrogen, and hazardous waste filtration and control. This includes working knowledge of system components, such as: all types of pumps, motors, heat exchangers, air handlers, air scrubbers, and filter units.In this role, the technician supports the Planner& Scheduler in the development of complex work procedures, from a technical, environmental or safety perspective. This requires documenting all maintenance and event activities using the CMMS and following prescribed job procedures. They will keep current on general fab operations and protocol to provide shift coverage and are a first responder to Building Management Systems alarms or equipment/systems failures, as required, to keep the facilities operation at a greater than 99.5% production uptime.
Associates degree in a maintenance related field, such as electrical, mechanical or controls, or an equivalent amount of direct maintenance related work experience. Advanced knowledge in one of the following disciplines: Controls, HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical. Working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Thorough working knowledge of PC based office software. Multi-craft skill sets and experience working in a proactive, planned work maintenance environment is a plus.
